Masters National Track & Field Results

Hi all, the meet went very well, I am now a national finals medalist. I placed 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 5.95 meters = 19 feet five inches, a personal best for this year, I missed winning the gold by 3 inches to last years national champion Christopher Bates. He is also a world class decathlete a great competitor. Third place went to Masters All American Derek Mckinley who is a very gifted jumper. I placed 10th in the 100 meters. I had a great time and met some very interesting people including world champion sprinter Renee (The Jet) Henderson, Mens 60 long jump gold medalist Roger Parnell who gave me some great coaching advice, Rand Crippen triple jump silver medalist a great coach in his own right and many others great competitors.  Check some of the pics of the meet by going to user info then clicking on the scrap book links. Lastly I would like to dedicate My Championship Medal to coach Breigh (Kila) Kelley and my daughter Myesha and sister Maya.

Hi All I will be running in the national championships on friday in Oshkosh Wisconsin so its time to open up a can of whup ass, lol. My philosophy comes out of the Muhammed Ali camp, even if you aren't the greatest you better start pretending that you are. When I step on that track Im coming to win even if its Carl Lewis, I say prove it !!! Much respect to King Carl, I am competing in the long jump and 100 meters. I feel great and Im ready to blast off, the goal is to win have a great time and meet some interesting people. Thank you to every one who has supported me, And special thanks to Coach Kila Kaanoi and orthopedic surgeon extrodinaire Dr. Christina Allen of UCSF with out their help I would not even be on the track. Just two years ago I had my knee reconstruction operation Dr  Allen did a great job and Kila helped me every day until I could get up and walk. They are my sheros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All, This was my first championship meet in 31 yrs. It went pretty well. I placed first in the long jump with another all american leap of 19 feet 1 inch. Second in the 100 meters I ran a 12.61 into a very strong head wind and fourth in the high jump. I did get to video record some of my high jumping which is going to help my jumping tremendously and I recieved some pointers from Thomas Vanzandt the nations top high jumper in my division which was uplifting lol. I also met a very gifted hurdler sprinter Ronald Bolling who gave me some great training tips. All around it was a great meet. I had a blast and met some very gifted friendly people. You can see pics of the medals in the picture section. (Go to user info then scrap book files then click on the medals pics and all the pictures will come up.)

I have the Pacific association masters championships on june 13 in folsom ca.  The meet is at folsom high school. It will be very interesting because up until now I have only been in open division meets. I am running the 100 meters and long jump and high jump.  I am currently focusing on the long jump. This is my premier event I can feel it starting to come together. My flexibility strength and technique are getting better on a daily basis. My goal is to also come down into the low elevens in the 100 in the next meet.  Thank You to every one who has helped out.
